My hiking buddy visits Vietnam about twice a year because his son has an orphanage there. He was telling me how he came across an American lady and her husband who stated they come to Vietnam every year and travel around for 3-4 months. They weren’t retired or super wealthy, the lady stated they find items to buy in Vietnam super cheap, ship them to their place in America, and are able to resell at their shop at a good markup.
They’ve been doing it for years and have found what sells the best back in the states. Some items she finds will be bought for $2 and says she can sell them state side for $25.
Not too shabby!
It’s not making them rich, but gives them a comfortable enough living and have been enjoying their lifestyle being able to spend a few months visiting Vietnam every year.
