Unhappy yet getting paid

Does this describe you?
Are you currently working a job or career that might have been good in the beginning but doesn’t get you revved up anymore than it did when you first started? Or maybe you’ve found this career field isn’t what you imagined during your college studies, you’re just tolerating it and merely there to keep that check coming in. Time has changed your perspective in what defines success for you, and it doesn’t involve a big bank account or high status title anymore.
Now you’re ready to move on to something on your own, be your own boss, attracting customers who like your stuff and want to pay you for it. Or move on to a different company position, not necessarily having to be in charge, doesn’t have to have a big salary, and enable you to work on tasks that satisfy your inner being.
Jennifer Gresham wrote 3 Clear Reasons to Change Careers on this subject for Zen Habits and also has her own website, Everyday Bright. She, like others, have left a good paying job for the pursuit of a more satisfying career change, even though it might pay less and not be some high status position.
Take a look at her post and website to help you get ideas in what defines success for you and what it is that really matters.
